Project 'Flora of Greenland' 2017-2024

The  'Flora of Greenland' project, granted by Aage V. Jensen Charity Foundation, was carried out in the years 2017 to 2024, and anchored in Greenland through a close cooperation between:

Flemming Rune, manuscript author of Flora of Greenland, photographer and former senior scientist at University of Copenhagen (author of 'Wild Flowers of Greenland' 2011),

Jon Feilberg, ph.d. in Greenland phytogeography and senior consultant (author of 'Flowers in Greenland' 1984), and

Ida Jacobsen, ph.d. student at Greenland Institute of Natural Resources.

During 5 intensive field seasons more than 10.000 photos were added to our previous collection of 20.000 photos of Greenland plants, enabling us to elaborate a new thoroughly illustrated revision of the flora.

This is the story of 7 adventurous years visiting habitats of more than 400 vascular plant species from the southern Subarctic, to the northern Higharctic, relocating many taxa for the first time in more than 50 years.
